5280 Dog Training was founded on the belief that not all pets are born equal. We understand that all dogs have their own unique traits, mannerisms, and lifestyles. After all, that's what makes them so special! Each and every dog requires their own unique and specialized training program and approach. That’s where we come in!
Whether it’s for starting your puppy off on the right foot, basic manners or more complex behavioral issues, our certified trainer is focused on not only training your pet but teaching you how to effectively communicate with them. Our method of training is full of fun techniques that will give you and your pet a happier life together.

"Riley has helped my husband and I with both of our puppies, both mini bernedoodles. Our male was rescued from an unfortunate situation with a training facility that isolated, improperly socialized, and abused him. When we removed him from that environment we were desperate to get help for this scared, vulnerable animal. Riley was called on to come to our rescue. This puppy loves attention and befriends everyone with her out-going personality. She is a treasure who immediately fit into our family. She has been an immense help with our damaged male. She is teaching him how to be a dog! He watches and learns from her behavior. They get along great and love playing together. It is heart warming to watch. After three months of living together with us and her, we are seeing improvement daily. Just recently, he started wagging his tail! It melts my heart to see his improvement.

Puppy Kindergarten
Puppies 8-16 weeks old are welcome to participate in the puppy kindergarten program, where the initial focus will be on potty training, crate training, basic house manners and beginning obedience. All board and train puppies stay in our home to allow for a seamless transition into yours! This program includes one month of training, your training equipment, an initial consultation and a send home lesson.

Puppy Junior High
The puppy junior high program includes the basic puppy kindergarten package and continues to build on and strengthen obedience commands, potty training, leash manners, socialization, crate training, impulse control, name recognition and much more! All board and train program puppies stay in our home to allow for a seamless transition into yours. This program includes two months of training, your training equipment, an initial consultation, and a send home lesson.

Canine College
The Canine College program builds on the first two months of your puppies customized schooling and starts to apply the previously learned behaviors in public now that your puppy will be completely vaccinated! All commands your puppy has been working hard to learn will be well established at this point, along with their potty training. All board and train puppies stay in our home to allow for a seamless transition into yours! This program includes three months of training, your training equipment, an initial consultation, and a send home lesson.

Puppy Pro*
The Puppy Pro Program builds off of all of the other training courses. This five month extensive program gives your puppy the perfect amount of time to perfect and cement all of his/her training along with giving your puppy more time to grow out of any puppy immaturities before going home! As with all of our board and trains, your puppy will stay in our home to allow for a seamless transition into yours! This program includes 5 months of training, your training equipment, an initial consultation, and a send home lesson, along with all of the perks from the Turnkey puppy!
This program includes touch up sessions at no cost for the life of the dog.

Elite Turnkey*
The Elite Turnkey program is the ideal course for the owner that wants a puppy that has had extensive, structured training. This is a great option for individuals/families with special needs/requirements. Your puppy will be trained to behave perfectly under any circumstances! The off leash work we have started in the turnkey puppy program will be near perfection at this point in training! As with all of our board and train programs, your puppy will stay in our home to allow for a seamless transition into yours. This program includes 6 months of training, your training equipment, a send home lesson, along with all of the aditional perks from the Turnkey puppy program.

One Hour Private Lesson
Private lessons offer a low distraction environment in which to learn new behaviors and skills.
This environment is particularly useful when working on new skills with a high energy, excitable, easily distracted dog or a reactive dog. It is much easier to reach a level of competence and control working with low distraction initially, than when you add too much environment all at once.
